So Happy For You Swap

So Happy for YouHere's another Lorna Raczynski swap. It's hard to tell from the photo but she ran our medium weight window sheets through the Big Shot using the Cherry Blossom embosslit and added it over top of the cardstock cut cherry blossoms. What a great idea! I never would have thought of that. She also incorporated a couple Sale-a-Bration products - the So Happy for You stamp set, the ribbon & button pack and the designer series paper.

There are so many options for free product this year for Sale-a-Bration. I remember when I first became a demonstrator, the only options were stamp sets. Now you have a choice of stamp sets (wood or clear mount), a designer series paper & quick accents pack, ribbon & button pack and even a digital option! Definitely something for everyone!

Sweet Summer Swaps

I have more Sale-A-Bration swaps to share with you today. This first one was created by my upline Winona Semler - isn't it cute?! This set didn't jump out at me initially but I love what Winona did with it and the more samples I see, the more it is growing on me.
This next swap was created by Kathy House. Not only did she use the Sweet Summer stamp set but she also incorporated the So Happy for You set and the ribbon & button pack - all of which you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration. I love how she used the buttons for flowers - super cute!

Together Layout

Hope you are having a great Saturday! We actually have a relatively relaxed weekend - just one soccer event/child each day! That's very rare in our house for a weekend. I have a lofty cleaning to do list for this weekend and hope to get a few layouts done as well!

The layout I'm sharing with you today is one we did at my downline dinner last week. This is an 8"x8" layout - I love this size for quick & easy layouts. I find 6x6 just too small. I have an album that I am working on that is filled with the photos of my brother and his family. Jen is so great at getting family photos done every year and sends us copies so they go in there with my niece and nephews school photos.

Working towards my goal of 104 pages in 2011 - this is another album that should get caught up by the end of the year. This will be a great back up when I'm looking for "quick & easy catch up layouts":)

I'm working on my February newsletter, if you aren't already on my email list be sure to sign up using the sign up box on the left to receive your free gift, exclusive project ideas and tool tips & tricks.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bliss Card

Bliss Isn't this an AMAZING card? This was a swap that I received from Lynne Scratch. It uses the Sale-A-Bration set called Bliss - my favorite SAB set! It's hard to tell from the photo but the stamped images are embossed and then run through the Big Shot using the square lattice die. And the color combination is beautiful - I believe it is Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.

Treasure Stampers Digital Page

I had a great My Digital Studio class on Saturday morning with a few ladies. It inspired me to bring my laptop and work on some projects during Eathan's soccer practice afterwards. I LOVE it.

This is the photo my daughter took of us on Friday night at the Treasure Stampers team dinner. One of the albums I am working on, as I work towards my goal of 104 pages in 2011, is doing an album all about me. Because my team and Stampin' Up! are a big part of my life, I thought this would make a great addition to the album.

Update on the page number - January 22nd: 7 pages of 104 done! I think MDS is definitely going to be a lifesaver in this journey towards 104 pages!

Card Results

If you read yesterdays post, you know about our team dinner on Friday night and the blindfold stamping. Well, as promised, today I am sharing the results. Here is Bobbi and Shelley, the blindfolded version is on the left. They did a great job!
Here are Katrina and Donna. Katrina did a fabulous job watercoloring, considering she had no sight - to top it off the image was small and detailed!

Here are Carla and Cindy. The blindfold version is on the right - you can hardly tell the difference!
Here are Jean and Marj! The blindfold version is on the right. Let me tell you stamping a greeting in a punched shape with your eyes open is difficult - but Marj did it blindfolded! This was a great way to start the evening - so much fun!

Downline Dinner

Last night we had our Treasure Stampers team dinner - it was so much fun. With everyones busy schedules, we just didnt't get a chance to do anything before Christmas but I really wanted to do something to show my appreciation for them. So I decided a dinner in January, after everyones lives had calmed down a bit, would be fun.
We started the evening with some stamping - blindfolded! It was so much fun. This first photo is of Bobbi and Shelley - they probably had the most involved card.

The way it worked was that I had everyone get into groups of two and I had set up stations with the supplies only. So no one could see the project and then decide where they were going to sit. This photo is of Jean and Marj - two of my newest downline members.
Then I took the person who wasn't going to be blindfolded into another room and showed them the card and gave them any instructions that were required. Here are Carla and Cindy working together - and now that I look at the photo - Carla's using her hands to pass Cindy supplies! Tsk, tsk:)

So each card was different and some used different techniques. This is Katrina and Donna and their card included watercoloring! Can you imagine watercoloring blindfolded? Katrina did a great job!
If you'd like to see the finished projects stop by tomorrow, I will be sharing them then.
Have a great day!

Be My Valentine - Swap No 5

I love the a la carte sections of our publications. Sometimes you'd like to make a card or two for an occasion but don't necessarily need a hole stamp set. That's where this Be My Valentine stamp came from - the a la carte section of the Occasions Mini.

This swap was created by Lynne Scratch - isn't it beautiful?! I love the pleated ribbon and then the vanilla rosette and just a touch of bling around the heart - amazing. This card size is 3"x6" and I believe the colors are Melon Mambo, Regal Rose and Rich Razzleberry - three colors that I never would have put together but they look great!

Thanks for Caring

Thanks for CaringI have another swap to share with you today. This was created by Shannon McGann - I love the look of the black with vanilla and the embossing just adds to it. Unfortunately, while I was away, we had a death in the family and so upon returning had a funeral to attend. This would have made a perfect sympathy card! This uses the new sympathy set in the Occasions Mini - Thanks for Caring. It is a beautiful set and not necessarily just for sympathy cards.

Today, I thought I would also share a few photos of some decorated albums. When we go to leadership, convention or regionals, there are always tons of projects there to inspire us. I loved the way they took the average looking Sweet Stitches designer printed album (121802) - from the Occasions Mini - and turned it into a WOW and so simply done. The photos show three different versions of the same album - aren't they incredible?!

Sweet Stitches ABC Album Sweet Stitches Flower Album Sweet Stitches Sewing Album
This gives you a new way to look at the Stampin' Up! albums - think about the possibilities! By simply using supplies you already have, you can take one of our albums and turn it into a WOW!

Leadership Update and Swap No 4

We CAN Stamp Managers Reception
We made it home safely from leadership but I must say, I wish I was back in Nashville! I cannot believe the snow here! At least it's supposed to warm up later this week.

Leadership was a blast - apart from the crazy long days, it was the best one I've been to. We met so many new friends and got to see some old friends. There were so many fabulous announcements, giveaways and the make & takes were AMAZING! The managers reception was incredible - they bused us to the Wildhorse Saloon - sooo much fun. The photo is a few of us from the We CAN Stamp group (back row: Trisha, Christy, Lorna and Winona; front row: Corrina, Donna and me) who qualified for the reception. Before we boarded the bus, they gave us all cowboy hats, so we had to take a photo.

I will try to post a few more leadership photos over the next week or so. For now, I do have a project to share. This is another swap, created by Winona Semler, that I received. I love the colors and that Baja Breeze seam binding - beautiful!

Baby Blossoms Supplies:
Stamps: Baby Blossoms (WM 121927/CM 122000) and You're a Gem (WM 122268/CM 122270) stamp sets
Cardstock: Very Vanilla (101650) and Baja Breeze (111352); Springtime Vintage dsp (121782)
Inks: Baja Breeze (111833); Always Artichoke (105219) and Early Espresso (119670) ink
Accessories: Framed Tulips embossing folder (121809); Baja Breeze seam binding (122331) and dimensionals (104430).
Isn't it gorgeous?!
Until next time,
Sherry

Swap No 3

Todays card was created by Donna Wizniuk. I love the softness of this card! I believe what she did to create the background is brayer pink ink onto the debossed side of the Framed Tulips embossing folder. Then ran a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock through it. The darker oval portion was created using the negative space of the wide oval cut from a scrap of cardstock, and then sponged to make it a bit darker than the rest. The stamp set is the Blessed Mother set (WM 121913/CM 122063) from the Occasions Mini.

Beautiful Donna!

Create a Cupcake Cards

The Create a Cupcake stamp set (WM 121915/CM 121982) and the Build a Cupcake punch (121807) were popular for this months swap. If you make a lot of birthday cards these two items are definitely a must have - super cute.

This first card was created by Cindy. I LOVE the colour combination - she took it right from the Sweet & Sour dsp (117390) and the sparkly cherries - what a great touch!
The second one was created by Debra. I love how she used the Framed Tulips embossing folder on dsp - I never think of doing that but love the look of it. It's hard to tell from the photo but she also used Crystal Effects on the cherry and the spots on the icing. Super cute!

This last card was created by Victoria. I love how she has the green dsp peeking through the border she created using the small heart punch. What a great idea!
Hopefully these cards have inspired you to create using our new cupcake set! Thanks for stopping by!

Swap No. 1

While I'm away, I will be sharing some of the cards I received from a swap that my upline had at the beginning of January. Todays card was created by Lorna Raczynski - isn't it OUTSTANDING?! I always love Lornas cards, the detail and time she puts into her swaps is incredible.

The texture on this card is amazing - check out the feather, the cork, the wood sheets, the button and the ribbon. The stamp set she used is the Nature Walk set (WM 121925/CM 121997) on page 27 of the Holiday Mini and she added a bit of the coordinating Botanical Gazette dsp (121783) at the bottom of the card as well. Beautiful! Thanks Lorna.

Until next time,

Sherry

Well as you read this, I am on my way to the Stampin' Up! leadership convention in Nashville, Tennessee! I am excited to go but also a little worried that our flight(s) will be delayed. Coffee Anyone?

I'm always looking for new ways to present just ordinary gifts. When I saw the template for this coffee mug on the Scor-Pal website, I had to give it a try! I thought it would be the perfect way to spruce up a Tim Hortons, Starbucks or Second Cup gift card. To make it even more special, I added some coffee grounds - it smells fabulous!

Isn't this a fabulous way to present a little something to someone special? I had so much fun making it that I made a few extra and added them to my Etsy shop. You can pick up yours here.

Creative ARTwork Scrapbook Page

Have any of you made any New Years resolutions? I don't normally make them but this year I've decided to make a scrapbook related resolution - to create 104 layouts in 2011! That's with photos included. Some will be done digitally, some traditional, some 8"x8" and some 12"x12". Averaged out - that's two pages per week. I think that's pretty reasonable. We'll see how it goes though, it's only the first week and I've only created one - I better get busy. Don't want to fall behind right at the beginning!

This is my first page for 2011 - my Creative ARTwork page. I love how this page turned out and when black & white photos are added - it looks even better!
Here's a close up of the pleated ribbon. I love adding ribbon to my pages this way.
I'd love to hear if you've set some resolutions of your own and what they are. We could cheer each other on!
I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Occasions Mini Catalogue

The Occasions Mini Catalogue went live on January 4th and it is fabulous. There are so many FABULOUS products in this mini. Today I thought I'd share a few of my favorites. They are definitely not limited to these but these are definitely ones I was extremely excited to see.

The first one is the Bring on the Cake stamp set (CM 121958/WM 121899). My On Your Birthday stamp set is so well loved, I was thrilled to see a new birthday set added to the mix. You can expect a birthday stamp-a-stack soon!

The next thing I actually think I squealed about when I saw it was the red Glimmer Paper (121790). Who doesn't love adding shimmer to their projects. I've used almost an entire package already! Does anyone foresee other colors? Wouldn't that be awesome!

I love the texture of the Embossing Folders so I'm always excited to see a new folder and the Framed Tulips (121809) on page 28 is amazing. Love it!

What about the Pompom Trim (page 35)?! And 3 different colors - Woohoo! I've used almost half a roll of that already as well. You can see it on this project.

Let's see what else... what about the new trinkets (page 24) - crowns and keys! I can't wait to play with those. And the new fabrics and fabric designer brads, the new Big Shot dies.... you get the point, I could go on and on:)

If you are Canadian and don't have a copy of the mini, please email me and I'd be happy to send on to you.

Happy Birthday Gift Tag

I'm super excited about this tag. I LOVE how it turned out. I created this for a swap that I participated in using new product. Notice the pompom trim - love it! I will be going through a number of rolls of that! The Happy Birthday is from a new birthday set - Bring on the Cake (available Jan. 4th). I was so happy to see a new birthday set, my old one has been well used and I'm a bit tired of it. The back of this tag says "Not just a year older, but a year better".

Welcome 2011!

Wow! It's been quite some time since I've blogged. I'm sorry I've neglected you for so long! I admit that I did enjoy the break though.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year! We certainly did. Last week was so nice. We spent it relaxing, hanging out with a couple family and friend gatherings. I was sad to see the kids go back to school today and was a bit lost this morning without them.

Anyway on to todays post...
I've been playing around with some new goodies so thought I'd share a couple of those projects with you over the next few days. With Valentine's Day being the next occasion, I thought the a la carte stamp - Be My Valentine (available Jan. 4th) would be a perfect addition to my collection. I created this cute little love note with a glassine envelope as the pocket. This would make a cute little note to tuck into a loved ones lunch box on Valentine's Day.
More photos and details can be seen in my Etsy shop here.
Thanks for stopping by! I will be back to share a gift tag tomorrow.
