Snowman Candy Bar Cover and One Last Christmas Card

Happy New Year's eve to you!  I hope you have lots of fun plans for tonight!

Today I thought I'd share with you my downline gifts for this year.  I completely cased this idea from Heather Summers - they are so cute!  Inside each snowman is a Dove chocolate bar - LOVE that chocolate!  I created the face, buttons and heart using My Digital Studio and then printed them on my home computer, trimmed them and wrapped them around the candy bar.  So simple!  This is what Jordyn made for her teacher gifts - she even sewed the hats herself!  She's generally not too interested in crafty things so I was thrilled when she expressed an interest in making these little treats for her teachers.

As I was going through my photos yesterday trying to decide what to post today, I realized that I hadn't shared my Mom's Christmas card so I have one last Christmas card to share with you.
She stamped the tree from Jolliest Time of the Year onto a shape cut using the Labels Framelits dies (available Jan. 4th).  It's hard to tell but the little snowflakes have glitter sprinkled on them - I love it - thanks Mom!

I'll be back tomorrow to show you what I've done to all the beautiful cards that I received this year.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Scrapbook Layout

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!  Ours was great!  It has been such a relaxing week.  I've enjoyed not having to do much of anything apart from the usual - laundry, cooking and cleaning.  I've had the opportunity to read some of the books that I've been wanting to read for a while and I've even had a little time to stamp with some of the new products coming out in the Occasions Mini (to begin Jan. 4th).

Before I post my project for today I thought I would fill you in on a couple things...

New items have been added to the clearance rack.  Be sure to check it out - lots of items still available at up to 80% off!

The Stocking Builder Punch will NOT be carrying over to the next catalogue and will only be available while supplies last!  There appears to still be some available as they haven't announced that they've sold out.  If you've been putting off ordering it, be sure to get it now.  Product number is 124095 - $22.95.

There are only a few days left to order from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  The last day to order is January 3rd.  You can order online here or email me your order.

So now on to todays project...
This was one of the layouts that we created this month at scrapbook club.  To be honest, it's not my favourite layout HOWEVER, I do love the fireplace accent.  Here's a closer look.

Isn't it cute?  I was inspired by several different versions I had seen online.  Just another reason to get your hands on that stocking punch before it's gone!  I used several different punches to create this little masterpiece.
  • Scallop Trim Border punch (118402) - mantle
  • Word Window (119857) - logs *the old version of this is on the clearance rack!*
  • Blossom Petals Builder punch (121808) - flames
  • Stocking Builder punch (124095) - stockings
It's hard to tell but the stockings are hung by the fire using our mini brads (122941) - I LOVE these little things!

I hope you enjoyed todays project.  Thanks for stopping by!

More Beautiful Christmas Cards

I feel so lucky to have received so many beautiful handmade cards this year!  Lots to share!  This first one was created by Karen Forrest - it is absolutely stunning!  It's hard to tell from the photo but the poinsetta if punched from a flocked paper.  It's amazing!  Thank you for the beautiful card Karen.
This shimmery beauty is from one of my team members - Kristin Gray.  I love the versatility of this stocking punch, who would of thought of creating a reindeer out of a stocking?!  Love it!  Thank you so much Kristin!
And this last one for today was created by Marj Hughes.  I love the soft colours in this card, the silver and bashful blue are beautiful together.  Thank you Marj for this stunning card!

Hopefully these cards are inspiring you!  Thanks for stopping by!

More Christmas Cards

I have some more handmade cards that I have been blessed with this year, to share with you today.  This first one is from the talented Christine Alward.  Christine is on the Treasure Stampers team and lives in Kingston, ON.  It was funny because when I received this card the envelope looked like it was full of bullet holes.  The rhinestones started to peak through the envelope thanks to the care of  Canada Post!   The card arrived in tact and is absolutely beautiful!  Thank you Christine!
The second one is from a good friend - Colinda Sanchez.  She's been a good friend for a number of years and we met through Stampin' Up!  We've travelled many places together and both LOVE to shop when we go away.  She's no longer a demonstrator so doesn't travel with us anymore...:(  I love the shape of this card - it's beautiful!
The last one for today is from my Aunt Donna.  This is a hybrid card, the image and the greeting were done in My Digital Studio and printed on her home printer and then added to a card, with ribbon wrapped around and some brads added to it.  Love it!  Thanks Auntie Donna!

I hope your Christmas plans are coming along well.  Can you believe we are only a few days away?  I just have a bit of wrapping to finish up but apart from that everything is done.  I do still have a huge list of things I would like to get done before the kids are off school so that I don't have to work much over their break.  We will see how much actually gets done:)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Cards

I've gotten a few handmade Christmas cards that I thought I'd share with you over the next couple days.  This first one is from one of my customers Tammy Boutin.  I love how she created the crumb cake background using a clear block and well Lovely As a Tree is a classic stamp set.  You can never go wrong using that set.  So beautiful - thank you Tammy!

This next card is from Barb Wachholz, one of my downline.  What a fabulous way to use the stamp set Jolly Bingo Bits!  I love how she created the little hanging candy canes.  So cute!  Thank you Barb.

Sorry for the quick post but I will be back tomorrow with a few more cards to share.  Have a wonderful day!

Musical Birthday Card

Hope you are having a great Saturday!  We have a very relaxing weekend for a change.  All my classes and clubs are done until the new year.  We have one last soccer game and a birthday party and that's it for the weekend!  Woohoo!  Looking forward to some downtime.

Today I have a card to share that one of my good friends - Colinda Sanchez made.  She needed a musical birthday card and this is what she created.  I love how it turned out!

Have a wonderful day and weekend! Can you believe Christmas is in just over a week!

Fancy Favor Gift Packaging

Good morning!  So how are your Christmas preparations coming along?  I'm happy to say that mine are almost done!  Cards have been sent, baking done, most of the shopping is complete (apart from a few little things that Marcel and I are taking care of today).  Now just doing the final touches like wrapping and other pretty packages.  This packaging will be for one of Eathan's teachers, I picked up some handmade soap samplers from a craft fair and these will fit beautifully in this pretty little box.
It's actually two fancy favour boxes put together - brilliant isn't it!  I can't take credit for this.  As demonstrators we have access to so many ideas and so much inspiration!  I am so thankful for that.  I don't think I could do what I do without the ideas that SU! and so many other demonstrators provide.  Don't get me wrong, I love to create my own projects but I have to admit that probably 95% of what I make is inspired by a project that I've seen or photo from a magazine.  But the great thing about that is that you can use those ideas as starting points and then make it your own or add your own take to it.

Anyway back to the project - SU! created a video for this project sometime ago and I basically cased the idea from them.  I switched up the accent a bit but apart from that it is pretty much the same.
Here's a close up of the focal point - I love this pine cone image from the Bells & Boughs stamp set.  It's so beautiful and the champagne glass glitter around the circle just adds to it!

Thanks for stopping by!

2012 MDS Hybrid Calendar

Good morning!  Today I've got another hybrid project to share with you.  I've been madly making little gifts for teachers, bus drivers and neighbours.  This was a fun project to make and so simple.  I created it using the calendar function in My Digital Studio.  This calendar feature makes it a snap to add calendars to any of your projects, whether it's a yearly calendar or just a monthly one.
So I 'hybrid'd' it up by adding it to some espresso cardstock.  The calendar itself is 5-1/2"x8-1/2" (printed with 2 per 8-1/2x11 page).  I added a few boho blossoms flowers with rhinestones in the middle.
And added a piece of cork to the bottom with three thumb tacks made pretty using the middle sized flower from the same punch.  To the back I added magnet so that it could be stuck to a fridge - really quick & easy.

This was the project that we created at this months MDS club, where I show everyone other ways that they can use MDS for crafting.  Seriously, MDS is a wonderful program and one of the best purchases I've made.  I have created so many gifts with it, both hybrid and digital.  It is incredibly versatile, once you get past the idea of just using it for digital scrapbooking - that's a great way to use it - but it's so much more than that.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas Lane Extra Bits

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  Ours was busy - stamp club on Friday, appreciation event on Sat. morning and team Christmas event in the afternoon, soccer game in the evening and a workshop and birthday party on Sunday!  Very full but lots of fun.

I have more projects to share with you using the leftover bits from my Christmas Lane simply scrappin' kit.  The first photo is a gift bag and tag.
And then several other various sized tags.  Our simply scrappin' kits go so far!  Even after using many of the leftover pieces, I still have lots of odds and ends and 3 full sheets of pattern paper!  Amazing!
I hope you enjoyed seeing all those projects using the same kit!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Memories Layout

Today I have my last layout that I created using the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I still have more projects to share but this is the last layout.  This one is for all my favourite photos from our celebrations on Christmas eve and Boxing day.  Again, I will just choose the best photos that portray these memories and add them to the layout.

Here is a close up of the candy cane accent - I love these candy canes, they are so cute!
I added a bit of the cherry cobbler scalloped ribbon and some little jingle bells to it.  So cute!  Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see what I did with some of the left over die cuts.

Christmas Day Layout

Back again with another Christmas Lane layout.  This one is for my favourite photos from Christmas day. I know I will end up taking a lot more than will fit in this two page spread but I will choose my favourites to add to this layout.

And a few closer photos of each page:

Hope your enjoying the layouts, I still have more to share!

Trimming the Tree Layout

Another Christmas Lane layout today.  This one is for our photos taken while trimming the tree.  Hopefully we will be able to do that early next week.  It's hard finding a day when all of us are home, everyone has such busy schedules!  I did add a couple things to this layout that are not included in the simply scrappin' kit - a cherry cobbler button, bakers twine and white cardstock.  Everything else was included in the kit.

Here are a couple closer photos of the two pages.

You can see that I've even written the size of photo that I need to print in order for it to fit on the mat.  I thought that the simpler I could make this the easier it would be to quickly add in my photos as the events happen.

I have another to share with you tomorrow.

Christmas Lane Baking Layout

Another layout using the Christmas Lane simply scrappin' kit.  My mom and I have a baking day planned for next week so I thought it would be great to document some photos of our day - thus the title:)  I can't say enough about our Simply Scrappin' kits!  If you are looking for quick and easy, these kits are fabulous.  They make putting together layouts so easy.  Each kit includes 2 sheets each of 4 colours of 12x12 cardstock, 3 sheets each of 12x12 double-sided paper and 2 of 6x12 sheets of self-adhesive die-cut designs.  The best part is that everything coordinates!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be back again tomorrow to share another layout.
