Marker Madness

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I've been madly trying to get some projects done for some upcoming deadlines. One of the things that had to get done tonight was my daughters birthday card - it's her birthday tomorrow! So I decided to combine two projects into one.

I've been really enjoying my Stampin' Write Markers lately and thought that they would be a wonderful product to showcase for the month of March. There are so many out-of -the-ordinary uses for the Stampin' Write Markers that everyone should know about. So I've decided that every week, for the month of March, I will post a new project focusing on a different use for these fabulous markers.

This week's technique is fairly straight forward - it is using your markers to create a shaded look.
I inked one of the scalloped images from the SAB set So Many Scallops in Regal Rose classic ink and stamped off onto scrap paper. I then took my Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker and traced around the edges of the petals. Then stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. Half way through inking the petals I received a phone call and put it down for about 3 or 4 minutes to answer the phone. I wasn't sure if I could just carry on afterwards so I thought I would give it a shot. You know what - I gave it a big huff and stamped and the pink flower on the card was the result! So you don't need to be quick about anything - as long as you remember to huff! I then followed the same process with the turquoise flower, using Tempting Turqoise as the base and the Taken with Teal marker.

The stem of the flower was done using the happy birthday greeting from Stem Sayings. I then used my 3/4" circle punch and punched out the centres of my flower and applied a couple flower rub-ons from the SAB Love & Happiness rub-ons. The paper is one from the Bali Breezes DSP package. My daughter is not a girly girl but I think she will love this card.

To celebrate my Marker Madness, I will be giving away a FREE roll of white grosgrain ribbon to everyone who purchases a complete set of markers* during the month of March. And guess what! If you order the set before March 17th it qualifies you for 2 free SAB sets! That's an extra $50+ value added to your purchase! You will not be sorry - it is such a worthwhile purchase and one of my smartest!

If the entire set isn't in the budget, ask me about my marker club. You will have the entire set, including the awesome case, and more in just 4 months!

Until next time,

*Promotion only good to Canadian customers and purchase must be made through me.
