Because he's my last child, I decided to be involved with the kindergarten committee. I wasn't able to be overly involved in anything with my first child since Eathan was so young and childcare was an issue. Our first big event is at the beginning of October and is a tea for the kindergarten moms.
We've decided to go with a fall theme and needed something for centre pieces for the tables. I had seen versions of these flowers around so thought something similar would be perfect. It incorporates chocolate and flowers, two things most women love! I was in Michaels today with my kids and we were admiring the beautiful fall displays and the sunflowers really jumped out at me. That's when I knew that the flowers in the pot needed to look like sunflowers.
All I did to make them was punch two 5-petal flowers from Summer Sun cs and stuck them together (off centre) then used a 3/4" chocolate chip circle in the centre. I attached a wooden coffee stir stick to the back of a peppermint patty and then put a flower on the front and back of the patty. Then added some scraps of ribbon for leaves. Once I find my moss, I will replace the brown paper that is in there with the moss. Super quick & easy which is what we need because we need to do 10 of these centre pieces and make 75 invitations in one afternoon!
I'm off to plan my class for Wednesday!
Until next time,
Sherry
