Papillon Potpourri Cased Cards

How do you find inspiration?  Do you find it by visiting blogs?  By looking through magazines or catalogues?  There are so many places to be inspired.  I have an inspiration book where I keep anything that I come across ideas that inspire me that I'd like to try, a quote that I love or sketches that I come across.  But I'm also inspired by my friends, downline, sideline and customers.  I love it when they share what they are working on.

This past month at stamp club a friend of mine, hey Tammy!  brought some cards to share that she made from a kit that she had purchased from a scrapbook store.  I loved the cards and thought they would be super simple to case using SU product and the awesome butterfly bundle that is on promotion right now.

Both of the cards that I cased designed by Nadine Karen.  Here's the first one...
It's lovely and so easy to reproduce using Stampin' Up! product.  Here's my take on the card...
The patterned paper is from the Gingham Garden paper pack (129310).  The doily is one of our Tea Lace paper doilies (129399).  The circle was embossed using the Pretty Print embossing folder (132175). The big butterfly was cut using the Beautiful Butterflies die and the two smaller butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (WM 132058/CM 123759) and punched out using the coordinating punches (Bitty Butterfly 129406/Elegant Butterfly 127526).  Then I added an island indigo candy dot (130932) in the centre.

Here's the next one...
This one I switched up a bit...
Pretty much the same basic layout but I switched up the background to cardstock embossed with the mosaic embossing folder (129984) instead of the patterned paper. The strip across is two layers of ribbon - the organza ribbon (114319) and midnight muse stitched ribbon (126847) - with a couple melon mambo candy dots (130931) on either end.  The small butterfly has a bigger butterfly punched out of vellum cardstock behind it (hard to see in the photo).  I am loving vellum cardstock lately - I've been using it on everything.

I left both cards blank as far as greetings.  I like to do this so that if I need a card, I can just grab one and add the greeting I need.

So here's my challenge for you this weekend!  Find something that inspires you, whether it's a card you found online or an add in a magazine and use it as a starting point to create something!  I'd love to see what you create.
