Bedroom Mini Makeover

Today I have a non crafty post for you.  Last week was Jordyn's 15th birthday and she really needed a desk and chair for her room because she was doing her homework on her bed which isn't great.  So Mom and I made a trip to IKEA and picked out a desk, chair and a closet organizer.  While she was at school on the day of her birthday we re-organized/cleaned her room.

I thought I would share some before and after photos.  She definitely doesn't have my organization/cleaning genes!  Here's the before of the closet.
And the after...
We used the ALGOT storage system from IKEA for the closet.  And to help her know where everything belongs, I added metal label plates to each drawer.  Now there's no reason for things not getting put back!

Here are the before pictures of the rest of her room.

She's got some really great furniture with lots of storage but it needed to be organized.  So Mom and I cleaned and organized everything.  It took us all day and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff we found!  Here's how it looked when we were done.
And then we added a desk, chair and shelf.
While walking through IKEA I saw this great idea showcasing kids artwork and I thought it would be great for her to hang some photos of her and her friends.
So it's been a week now - it doesn't look like this anymore but it is still relatively tidy.  If she just made her bed in the morning, it would look respectable... but as a parent you have to pick your battles right?!

Have a creative day!
