Project Life and Stampin' Up!

Most of you know that I'm super excited about the pairing of Stampin' Up! and Project Life (#PLxSU).  I love the idea behind Project Life and pocket scrapbooking.  I'm sure you've heard me say it before - this is going to help me get caught up.  It will help me get my photos into albums so that my family can look through them and remember all the wonderful times we've had.

I decided the best place to start was to pick a holiday.  So I chose our trip to BC in 2012.  I went through all my photos and printed all my favorites in 4x6.  Once they were printed I sorted them.  Once I had sorted them, I chose the photo pocket page from our variety pack.  I did this by seeing how many of my photos were horizontal, vertical, what could be trimmed down etc.
The next step was trim any of the photos and to round my corners.  This, of course, is optional and I chose to do it for this trip.  So I will keep it consistent throughout the pages.  Then I slide the photos into the sleeves.  Any empty pockets were filled with the cards from the Everyday Adventure Card Collection.  And this is what I came up with...
It is soooo simple.  The only embellishing I did was a little flag at the top that says Summer 2012 - using the Project Life Day to Day stamp set.  Then I added journaling to one of the cards and a bit on one of the photos.

This next page followed the same process, except I did a little more embellishing.  I used lots of pieces from the Everyday Adventure Accessory Pack - that's where the title came from, the arrows and the shape.  Love the accessory packs - they even come with washi tape!

On the page above I added my title using one of our photopolymer alphabet sets (this one must be sold out, I can't seem to find it online).  No worries though, there are lots coming out in the new catalogue.  I also used the washi tape to hold a photo to a white card that I cut from cardstock.
This page was super simple.  I didn't add any embellishing at all - just one of the cards that had the perfect saying for the photos!
This last page, for today, uses a few more of the cards because I wanted to include a bit more journaling than on some of the other pages.

Anyway, I think this gives you a pretty good idea of how the Project Life kits work and how easy it is.  If you'd like to give it a try and learn a little more about why Project Life and Stampin' Up! make the perfect pair - mark your calendar for June 25th (9:30am or 7pm).  That will be my first Project Life class - I will post details soon!

Have a creative day!
