Congratulations Card Swap

Hello and happy Friday!  I hope you are all having a great week.  We certainly are.  I wrote this post a week ago because we are enjoying a little holiday in Hawaii - thanks to Stampin' Up! - this week.  Today I thought I'd share the swap that I made.  I kept it really simple but did a technique called spotlight stamping.  Super easy and it gives the card a stepped up look.

Here's how you do it...
  1. Cut a piece of neutral cardstock and a piece of scrap paper to desired size.
  2. Cut desired shape from colored cardstock.  I used the star framelits but you could use a punch or any other framelit shape.
  3. Stamp the greeting on the neutral cardstock and the scrap paper in the same position.  For example, if you stamp it in the middle on the cardstock, do the same on the scrap paper.
  4. Now place your punched shape over the greeting that is stamped on the scrap paper.  Stamp the image again, lining it up with the image that is already stamped.  Note:  it doesn't have to be exact but close is good.
  5. Now take your stamped shape and line it up with the stamped image on the cardstock.  I added it using dimensionals.
  6. Finish the rest of the card as desired.
This was also one of the cards that we did at stamp club this month.  Did you know that each month we learn a new technique or fold at stamp club?  It's lots of fun and a great way to learn to really use the products you have.  Contact me if you'd like to learn more about joining or starting your own stamp club.

Have a creative day!
