Birthday Bouquet Watercolor Wash

Earlier this month I was enjoying playing with my Aqua Painters. I find I go in spurts where I'll use a product or tool lots and then not use it for the longest time. Are you like that too? Well it was time to dust off my Aqua Painter and play around. I did lots of coloring on cards and created a few watercolor washes like this one. It's not the best photo - hard to see the greeting, which is from the Perfect Pairings Sale-a-Bration stamp set.

It's easy to create a wash, just pick a color or two - I used blushing bride and watermelon wonder for this card. (Note: If you want to emboss a greeting like I did, do that first before you do your wash.) I brushed my clean Aqua Painter over a piece of watercolor paper punched with the 2-1/2" circle punch to wet it. Then dipped my Aqua Painter into a drop of blushing bride ink refill and lightly colored along the top of the circle. Then I did the same with the watermelon wonder, starting at the bottom so that it would be a little darker at the bottom and gradually get lighter. Easy peasy! You can see another card that I created using a watercolor wash here.

Have a creative weekend!
