Pure Sweetness Layout using Ready to Pop by Stampin' Up!

Another layout for you today! I apologize if you only make cards and are visiting but I've been on a scrapbooking role lately and just want to run with it, while it's here:)

I love these sweet photos of my son. They are older photos (2012) but I noticed them on my computer the other day and realized they hadn't been printed or documented. I knew it was time! This photo does not do this layout justice - these strips look amazing in person.

I was inspired by a layout I saw on Pinterest and I knew I wanted to recreate the look using these strips. Here are the steps I took to create this look:
  • I created a template for each of the strips using scrap paper - if I remember correctly they are about 1" wide.
  • Once I was happy with the sizes, I traced them onto patterned paper from the Affectionately Yours paper pack and cut them out.
  • I positioned them on the white background and used a pencil to trace the top and right side. This is the guide for stamping the border.
  • Using the diagonal striped image from the Ready to Pop stamp set, I stamped the image along the pencil lines. Note: I lined the image up so that the line was midway through the image because I only wanted a portion of the image showing.
  • I repeated this for all three strips, in three different colors of ink.
  • Then I added dimensionals to the back of each strip and stuck them down.
It really does add great dimension to the page. I think this would also be a great idea to do with a zig zag pattern. I'll have to try that on another layout.

The Ready to Pop set is a great set for stampers. It has some incredibly versatile images in it. I love the diagonal stripes and the dotted circle images. I can see using those as well as a couple other images quite often. I love sets that have images like these - they make for great backgrounds on both cards and layouts!

I will be back on Friday with more inspiration - this time it will be a card:)

Have a creative day!

Note: it looks like the stamp set I used for the Sweet-ness has retired. However, there are many other stamp sets/die cut words you could use in its place.
